Alongside his career as a theatre worker, Brian has worked extensively as an educator and facilitator.

This work includes positions in Third Level institutions, residencies with youth theatres (County Wexford Youth Theatre & Limerick Youth Theatre) and facilitating projects with community arts organisations.

He has trained with numerous practitioners and companies in the areas of clown, comedy and movement, including Philippe Gaulier, Carlo Jacucci, Olly Crick, Spymonkey, Jamie Wood, John Wright and Teatro Osmego Dnia, amongst others.

In 2011, Brian was awarded a PhD in Theatre and Storytelling from the University of Liverpool.

He has worked as a Lecturer in Drama at Liverpool Hope University (2007-2014), University of Chester (2014-2019) and Mary Immaculate College, Limerick (2020-ongoing).

His Third Level teaching has mainly been in the areas of actor training, directing student productions and developing original work for the stage with students.
